Change of plans...

What's that saying about making God laugh by telling him what your plans are? Well, I guess he had a nice chuckle after reading my last blog post about the fabulous tuxedo blazer I was planning for New Years Eve.

Yup, that's me, and yes, I'm right-handed. I fell on some ice last night and injured my wrist. I may have a scaphoid fracture but that won't show up on an x-ray for another week or so. I'm hoping it just turns out to be a bad sprain.

Carolyn will be happy to know that I hadn't cut out my jacket fabric yet, so when I finally get around to it, I will pre-treat it!

I'll leave you with this photo of our Smart. Like so much of the country, we've been buried under snow this week. I thought I was getting away from this by moving to Seattle. This amount of snow is pretty much unheard of in these parts. Seriously, we don't even own a snow shovel.

Oh. Man. That truly sucks. I'm sorry :( I was watching the news this morning thinking about you in Seattle. Oy.

Hope you feel better soon! I, too, thought of you with the snow, seeing it on the internet.

Ouch! Hey, I bet you can find a cute jacket at H&M (wink). Oh well... Take it easy and enjoy the snow.

Christina I am so sorry about yoiur injury! Isn't this weather bizarre? Its like a 25 year storm. I've been here 23 years and this is the first time snow has stayed for more than 2 or 3 days.
Your beautiful New Year's jacket will look great on Valentine's day. Heal fast.

Ouch! I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you heal quickly, but in the mean time, take it easy!

Yow! What a sucky injury. But please, I beg you: put on your new quilted biker jacket and tell tall tales about how you got that injury: Bar fight...Biker rally...

aw that sucks! Are you as tired of the snow as I am???? I LIKE the temperate weather of Seattle. Snow is ok, but then it should go AWAY. Sheesh. =) Feel better soon...

Oh no, that is terrible! ITA with Leslie, sport that fabulous biker jacket and tell great tales about your injury. Pretty wild weather, huh?

Christina,

Sorry to hear about your fracture, I feel for you and know what a bummer it's going to be!!! But fingers crossed nothings broken.

We are having lousy weather down under, looks like it may drizzle with rain tomorrow. Though I'd love to experience a white Christmas one of these days.

Merry Christmas to you Christina.

Oh, that's unfair! I hope you heal pretty fast...
And I agree with Leslie's proposal about talltales :-)
Hugs to help cure that wrist.

Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened to you! I agree with Leslie. Make up a real whopper about some roadhouse fight during the snowstorm, and embellish it like a bad wedding dress!

I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas!

Oh No!! I am so sorry you hurt your wrist. Well, that is just a good excuse to go out shopping and buy a blazer. :)

I'm so sorry! I flew off my own front steps this morning and landed flat on my back on the sidewalk, but the only injuries were to my dignity because several of the neighbors were right there. I hope it's just a sprain and you'll be feeling better - and sewing - soon.

Happy holidays.

Aw that's messed up! Hope it's minor, and that you're not in too much pain. But some shopping therapy might ease that some :)

Oh dear! Looks like hubby will have to spoon feed you and raise your glass to your lips. Good excuse to sit down and enjoy that snow. Merry Christmas :)

I hope your wrist heals quickly! I have been watching all the stories of snow storms over there - it is amazing - we are having a warm Xmas day with the chance of a summer storm this afternoon.

I had a similar injury - going over bike handles in the summer. Only had to do 10 days in cast so hope it's similar for you. I hated not being able to sew!

Happy Holidays:-)

Hoping your hand heals fast and that there is no breakage in it.

Christina that is just terrible! I was thinking about you with all that snow, but I sure didn't imagine this scenario! Your poor car too, LOL. I'll cross my fingers for just a sprain, and I'm with Ann and Leslie, milk it. :-)

Sorry to hear about your injury. That arm splint can be a pain the rear, especially when you're trying to sleep, but it does help to keep it still. I hope your wrist heals quickly.

holy crap Christina....glad you're ok. looks like it hurt when it happened.

Too sad! Hope youe aren't in too much pain (though I recommend alcohol to help with that) and the sewing will wait for you.
Hope it doesnt snow any more or your Smart will be buried! My very own UK Smart sends it warm wishes - they really are fabulous cars. And clearly popular with creative people.

Ouch, that looks really painful, feel so sorry for you. Hope you get better soon.
The picture of the snowed-in Smart actually makes me jealous, I would love to have both the car and some snow! It seems like you in North America got all the snow in world this year.

Sorry to hear about the wrist! That's a real bummer.

I could not believe how much snow there was in Seattle! I thought I was getting away from cold and snowy weather in Chicago and it was really more of the same. =P

I am so sorry to hear this. Here in MA we are accustomed to this, but it really sucks when you are not prepared. Hope you are feeling better. This winter has been crazy.
