I disappeared for a while, and I don't even have a photo to show for it! I went to Atlanta (for work) and Las Vegas (for fun), and one week turned into two, turned into three... The thing is, we have been having the Best Summer Ever in Seattle. The kind where you're ready for happy hour every single day after work. Actually, at this point it's
too hot. Remember in December when I told you we were unprepared for the
major snowstorm we got? Well, at the opposite end of the spectrum, now we are unprepared for this heat wave. Few houses here have air conditioning since normally we are lucky if the temps are in the 80's (>27C) in the summertime. Now we've been pushing 100 (38C) which is unheard of around here. Spending time upstairs in our house, where I sew (and sleep!) is unbearable. I may need to move my sewing machine downstairs temporarily. The July Burda is still calling to me. Anyway, I'm still around. Happy sewing and happy summer, everyone!

aaw, welcome home, (i guess). soon it will be time to get a september weekend on the calender!!
Wow, not even window units? We hover in the 100 degree and plus area all summer. My husband said it was actually cool yesterday, it was around 95.
It's been close to 100 degrees here every day the entire summer. Our electric bill is out the roof. The air conditioner runs constantly. Cooler Weather, please make your way here, soon!
Looking forward to seeing what you sew up from Burda.
Oh Baby! I am so sorry! We're used to the triple digit heat down here in Texas, and it's often brutal in July and August. You poor Northern Ice Princesses must be miserable, especially without air conditioning.
Keep cool and stay sane.
Yeah... welcome to my world :) I don't have central air. Just window units. So, my house is always warm. But, I'm just at 90 degrees!
It's ridiculously hot. I can't get anything done, much less sewing. Your mention of the snowstorm is making me wistful :)
glad to know i'm not the only one who thinks it is too freaking hot to sew...the thought of turning on my iron makes me cringe. Thank God it's cooling down a bit...and sad that I think 90 degrees is "cooler."
Our next door neighbors are I think the only house on the block with AC. Sewing (also in the sweltering upstairs) has meant standing directly in front of the fan, especially when the iron is on. Thank God it's cooler today!
It's ridiculous hot. And we managed to pick the hottest week of the year to move!
