Never enough scissors

Yesterday I went to the estate sale of a fiber artist. I didn't go too crazy, I picked up a few cuts of silk that will make for great linings if not blouses. What I'm really pleased with are these scissors - Wiss thread clips, 4.5" Clover patchwork scissors, and 9" Gingher bent trimmers - $1 each. I found these online retailing for at least $20 a piece. I'll stash these all over my sewing room so I always have scissors within arm's reach.

I enjoy going to estate sales, specifically looking for sewing materials and equipment, as well as some mystery notions. Some times you can find interesting things. I picked up a hem weights earlier today, so it as definitely worth the visit.

Those thread nips are fabulous and one of my favorite notions.

What a great find...nothing more irritating than those scissors who take a hike when you're not looking!

Lucky! I just inherited my Grandma's sewing box from my Mom, and to my surprise I found a pair of Wiss pinking shears.

You hit the jackpot! I love the great, older tools you can sometimes find this way.

Lucky haul! Yes, multiple scissors are necessary.
