Inside secrets

I was flipping through one of my all-time favorite books, Couture Sewing Techniques by Claire Shaeffer, when I came across these photos showing the corselette inside an Yves St Laurent for Christian Dior gown, and I thought, wouldn't it have been great if the YSL exhibit I recently visited had a few garments displayed inside out? There's just as much magic on the inside as the outside.

I agree! I'd love to see the inner beauty of some of CD creations!!

Totally! I spent ages in the V&A in London under on of Vivienne Westwoods corsets to see what she had done. I work alot doing alterations to big brand labels and learn lots from what is inside their garments.

I'm sure I've told you this before, but Ms. Shaeffer gave a speech to my MA graduating class at FIT last year and she talked about all this type of goodness. She's amazing!!
