Ibiza pics

Tim and I visited Ibiza and Barcelona a couple of years ago (honeymoon) so I didn't go quite so crazy with the camera this time.

Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. It's a popular European tourist destination and in the summer it's full of clubgoers seeking the latest and greatest in dance music. We met up there with a few friends from Seattle.

We stayed in the largest town on the island, Eivissa, or Ibiza Town.

We visited one of the island's famous "hippie markets", Las Dalias, where supposedly one can find amazing clothes and jewelry from local designers, with fashion editors shopping there for the next big thing. But it didn't live up to the hype in my opinion; while there was some nice jewelry, the clothes (tunics imported from India and the like) could also be found blocks from our hotel and it wasn't worth the cab ride out there.

Hundreds of people gather at the "sunset bars" each evening to watch the sun go down.

View of Eivissa and the castle by day...

...and by night.

There's an abundance of al fresco dining, which I love.

Gorgeous! I now want to go there. My parents used to own a condo on Menorca, also one of the Baleric islands. I went there when I was 17, and my mother sold the condo about five years ago. Too bad. Now I could probably afford to go there soon...

It looks absolutely heavenly. I wish we'd been more adventurous and gone further afield when we were in Barcelona last year.

Fabulous photos. I love the one of all the people on the beach with their cameras out!
