My library

The other day my friend asked me how many books I have in my sewing library. "Oh, I don't know," I said. "Fifteen?"

Apparently I underestimated. There are closer to thirty, plus a few on quilting and knitting.

We spent quite a bit of time this weekend cleaning out our office, and I finally consolidated my sewing books from all around the house onto one bookshelf. When you put them all in the same place, they really do add up, don't they? And to think there are still more books I'd like to have. *sigh*

Tell me about it! I have an Enormous textile library (sewing, spinning, dyeing, knitting, tapestry weaving, canvaswork), which is wonderful, except right now I'm having to pack it all up (along with the hundreds of other books we own) to move. This sucks! I've been cursing my fiendish book-buying habits.

I love having a book to turn to when the instructions make no sense. I can relate to your library size, lol

Christina, you have a GREAT library. A nice mix of classic and new. Nothing like getting stuck at midnight on a project and being able to turn to a book.

Eyeing with jealousy your vintage sewing books!

Ah, don't sigh, books are a good thing! And like Cidell said it's great to have one at Midnight when you are stuck in the middle of a project and need an answer. Since I have about 5x 30 sewing books and still have quite a few on my list to buy, let me tell you that you are not alone in the quest!

And what's really bad, is that I've finally decided to start that sewing DVD library I've always wanted...can you say that my children are going to KILL me when I die for all the stuff they are going to have to get rid of! *LOL*

That's one of the great things about sewing, there is always more to learn! I bet I'd be surprised if I counted, too. But I can honestly say I have read them all and I reference many of them often.
