I ended up deciding on Vogue 8229, and since I liked the dress so much and I had another great fabric in my stash, I couldn't stop at just one (or two). As soon as I'm done with this current dress, I'll post pics. They are really fun - different fabrics which make for different (daytime vs. evening) looks.
I'm leaving work early on Friday afternoon to head to Vancouver, BC, and will be back Saturday evening. I'm going with my husband and a group of our friends, none who sew, so I probably won't be hitting any fabric stores while I'm there... But I can guarantee I'll do some important fashion trend investigation at Zara.
