Heading here and there

This is a not very flattering shot of one of Seattle's favorite buildings, the downtown public library, designed by Rem Koolhaas. If you are ever in Seattle, you should drop in for one of their free daily tours, the library really is a sight to behold. I stopped in there on my way home today. I am a huge fan of the library. Whenever I'm thinking of buying a reference book, like a cookbook, sewing skills, book, etc, I almost always get it from the library first to take it for a test drive and decide if it's really worth my investment. I get a lot of other items there too, like fiction that I only want to read once, and movies on DVD.

Well I am off to Atlanta this week, I usually go there once a year for a work-related meeting. I just checked the weather and was pleased to note that it is going to be in the 80s! My dear Seattle has pushed its way up to 65 a time or two this spring but most days have been in the 50s. So I'm looking forward to spending some time in a warmer clime for a few days, although I'll unfortunately be in a hotel conference room, probably air conditioned enough to require a blazer, for most of my trip.

I get back on Thursday night then on Friday I'm hitting the road for another overnight trip to Vancouver. So it'll be many days before I'm able to spend any quality time at the sewing machine...
