Baby's first booties, courtesy of Grandma
Now that I've had a chance to tell all the important peeps in my life, I'm happy (and relieved) to finally be able to share with all of you that Tim and I are expecting a new little person in our lives next year! I'm due in April and we're having a girl :)
I was tired the first couple of months but I feel fantastic right now. Just trying to stay in shape, eat well, and absorb all the ins and outs of caring for a baby. And of course, I've been checking out all the maternity sewing patterns (or lack thereof - ahem - I'm looking at you, Burda magazine!). Fortunately we're all aware that there are plenty of non-maternity options that easily accommodate a growing belly, so it's really not so bad, more on that soon.
Congrats! Sleep and go to lots of movies now!!!
ReplyDeleteBest advice I ever got was, it's the hardest thing you'll ever do but it's the coolest thing you'll ever do.
I am so happy for you two!!! CONGRATS!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome news! Congratulations! You're going to love being a mom. What cute baby booties.

YAY!!! Huge congratulations to you and Tim! Here's hoping that the baby share the same birthday as your mom! *cough* ok, and me ;)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are in for the ride of your life...a good one but the ride of your life!!! And a little girl...such fun...enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Babies are awesome! And it's very clever of you to have a baby in April, so you have a tiny baby in the summer. It's nice not to have to lug the baby in and out of the car in the rain, and you can take lots of walks outside.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both! This is wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I had a feeling this news was coming for some reason. Yay, a baby girl to sew for!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, best wishes to you, your husband and that little baby girl who will steal your heart!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What exciting news!!! I'm so happy for you, Christina! I wish you a joyful pregnancy - do your best to relax and enjoy every moment. From my experience, I really loved the August 2006 BWOF maternity collection the best. And also start thinking about clothes that are nursing friendly - no one told me this so I had a bunch of dresses that worked only for maternity. I wish I had considered nursing functionality at the time because my pre-preggers clothes are all too small and maternity (worn only in the 3rd trimester) are all too big, so I now need an *entirely* new wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations :-) I guess now you can start sewing baby clothes and layettes. I'm really happy for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How exciting -- and it's a little girl. That should make sewing even more fun.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! ((I am too, but it's still a secret! 9 weeks)) Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteYikes!! April is almost here!! Can you believe it's only like 12 weeks away! lol. I need to get sewing!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Christina! That's so exciting! All my best wishes!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Congratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am also delurking to say congratulations and good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have a feeling you'll sport some of the most stylish maternity wear ever.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Now you need to put Ottobre magazine on your holiday wish list- it's required sewing especially for baby girls. There's a Yahoo group for it and a Flickr group- you'll find lots of inspiration there! One of the earlier women's issues had quite a few maternity as well as nursing items. Enjoy these days- being pregnant is one of the most precious times we can have, and you get the best gift of all at the end of it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm really excited for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How Exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Such exciting news. Yeah, good luck with the maternity sewing. There are some pretty good maternity consignment shops around Seattle, though. Labels on Phinney is pretty good and Me n Moms in Ballard and Lynnwood has a ton. They might be able to help you with some basics.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! How exciting!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Exciting Times! Maternity sewing is great fun, I know I enjoyed it alot. (Once you figure out the patterns! I swear the big four simply put a maternity label on some plus size fashions!)

Congratulations! Such wonderful news. I just became an aunt so I've been researching baby patterns too. So much fun sewing and knitting for the little ones.
ReplyDeleteHaven't checked in for forever. I too am pregnant and while I would normally do my blog checking late at night I was instead going to bed at 8:00. Congrats to you guys! Motherhood is great and the hardest thing you'll ever do. But u will love that little one more than u can imagine.
ReplyDeleteAlso- the Oliver +S patterns are the sweetest and most fun to sew.
