I've been waiting for this


FYI: All the dead grass belongs to my neighbors, not me.
My house has more of a 'wilderness' theme happening....


I got my Smart Car today! After a year of waiting. US deliveries started in January 2008 and finally our number was up. Okay, I guess it's "our" car. Tim will drive it to work every day and I'll continue to commute to work by bus, since I get a free bus pass through my job and there is a route that is practically door to door for me. But still!

Parking in Seattle should be much easier now...

    At least it's not orange like the one in my parking garage. Well, I don't love the look of them, but they certainly make a lot of sense. Congrats on your new car!

    Aren't you going to look so ever European! I don't think it will be long before we see a lot more of these on our roads. In Europe all you see are smart cars, scooters, and motorcycles and the latter are parked all over sidewalks etc... Never SUVs and certainly no Hummers. Gas has been sky high over there for years; we're just finally getting a taste of it here. As for parking, you're going to be the envy of a lot of people!

    Congratulations on your new car! I remember how our American friends were very amused by those "toy cars" back in 2001 when they saw them here in Berlin. Well, times sure change :-)

    Coming from a family that has to Try On cars (my husband is 6'4", I can't even get him into a small sedan...it would be funny to see him try and fit in one of these.....he will not give up his Tahoe for anything...sigh

    colour by number - Well, technically none since it's a 2-seater, but there is cargo space for groceries, etc, so depending how big they are... LOL (BTW - I tried to email you but my message was rejected...)

    Saw my first smart car in Vancouver last spring. Thought it was, well, very smart looking! But the mileage, TDF these days. Good going! Even an orange one is soooo *green*.

    I actually just saw my first Smart Car up close going down Broadway in NYC yesterday... my first instinct was that it was just my size for putt-putting around the city... Nice!

    I have loved the Smart since I first saw it in Austria when I was working with Swarovski. I would love to get one, but they don't yet make a convertible. ;)

    Gorgeous things....they do make a convertible smart car! They lady I bought mine from had just bought a yellow convertible one!! It was fantastic looking.

    We just bought a Yaris because it was available on a lot locally. And I drove an Insight hybrid for 4 years but it proved to be too lightweight to drive in storms. I loved getting 60 MPG! So now that these are becoming available in US the SMART car is on my list of things to save for. Congratulations on your new baby.
