My mailman is reading my blog

My last post about how great mail makes my day? My mailman read it. Look what he brought me today:

The May issue of Burda magazine (I still haven't made anything from the April issue) and Intimately Yours: Bras that Fit that I won as part of the 1-year anniversary celebration of the Sew Forth Now podcast! Anne St Clair, the author and owner of Needle Nook Fabrics, even wrote a personal message to me in it. Thanks Anne and Lori! (And look out, Cosabella!)

Yup, some new Hot Patterns. I've been obsessing over the t-shirt pattern from the new Riviera collection. This is quite possibly the coolest trio of t-shirt patterns ever published. Erica gave us the lowdown on the RTW inspiration for these. I am thinking of making the fluttery sleeve version and lengthening it to be a dress. In time for a party on Friday. What do you think?

I've included these pictures in case you are curious about what the latest generation of Hot Patterns is like. The t-shirt pattern includes 2 huge white sheets of sturdy paper with the multisized pattern printed on them (my eye is so used to looking at BWOF that this looks so clean!). The instructions, with diagrams, are printed on half of one of the sheets.

Pictures are always a good thing.

I am seriously digging those sailor pants, and haven't seen a Big 4 version yet. I just may have to fork out the money.

I got my May Burda yesterday, too. It is only my 2nd issue. I, too, haven't made anything from the April issue yet, but as soon as this semester ends for me, I am all over it. However, I have been suffering from headaches lately, and I think it is from trying to read the instructions.

I didn't realize that Ann had a pamphlet out on how to make bras! Christina - she makes the most extraordinary bras! I have had the pleasure of fabric shopping with her and she's bras in things I would NEVER think of!!!!

And you had a very good mailday! :)

Another glorious mail day!!

I love the May BWOF issue! I would sew 80% of the garments featured in it if I had the time (never say never, right? I have a few projects in mind coming from this issue...)
