Lacroix for La Redoute: Designer inspiration

I got a new La Redoute catalog in the mail today announcing the latest Designer Exclusive line: Christian Lacroix. Not sure if they are going to add more pieces since, at the moment, the line seems to be comprised mostly of towels(?!). But this "Sévillane" dress most certainly caught my eye. The black lace panels against the lighter silk fabric are stunning. (The dress is also available in all black which is less striking of course, but its subtleness is also intriguing.)

This look can be recreated with many of the simple shift dress patterns out there. You can either choose a pattern with separate side and front panels, or add your own seams, then apply the lace to the front section.

I am just tediously sewing the snaps on my July BWOF blouse now. I also made a coordinating skirt on Sunday so I'll post the outfit soon!

That dress is a great inspiration! I also receive the La Redoute catalogue and find some of the garments really inspiring.
