Phew!

I have been busy doing a million and one things after work this week - stocking up on cat food, attending a going away party for a coworker, prepping for a job interview of my own, shopping (unsuccessfuly) for a new swimsuit, (getting totally green with envy after seeing The Slapdash Sewist's stylin' suit!)... Both of the quilts I mentioned in my last post have the bindings only partially complete. And Mom, I won't be getting that package out to you until next week!

I did find something interesting while catching up on my Bloglines posts with my morning coffee. Via whipup.net, I found this cute, free template for a fabric swatch organizer. Gotta put this on my to do list for when I'm back from my trip.

Have a wonderful Independence Day and I'll catch up with you right after that!

Brilliant. I had an idea once of making my own suit after realizing I was going through $60 suits every other month (I swim). I never got around to it, but I have two patterns that I hope to use at some point. I finally just ordered about 10 from swimoutlet .com and kept the best three.

I agree with Cidell, Christina. Making your own swim suit is a great idea. And, by the way, we could be twins! Honestly, we photograph very similarly...Cheers!

I love the fabric swatch binder. I did something similar to that for an FIT project. I used baseball trading card sleeves, but some people in the class used slide projector sheets.
We had to find all different types of structures - knit, multiple warp/weft systems, warp faced, weft faced, matlisse, etc. It was a fun proect and I did a lot of searching for interesting fabrics!!

I typed in the wrong address, haha. I'm starlit12.livejournal.com - I know you know that, but it makes me look like a dumbass.
